On 12 May 2011, Hilong Holdings Limited and Sinopec Southwest Company successfully obtained project certification from the expert team of Sinopec in relation to the domestic manufacturing of aluminum alloy-based drill pipes, paving the way for the official commencement of the project. Aluminum alloy-based drill pipe has been widely used in Russia. It has the advantages of light weight, ultra high resistance to corrosion and stronger anti-fatigue properties. The Group and Sinopec have married their strengths to jointly provide technical and application support for aluminum alloy-based drill pipe products. This, in turn, serves as a strong driver to the development of aluminum alloy-based drill pipe products in China.
