MOSCOW, January 28 – Russia plans to sign an intergovernmental gas pipeline agreement with Turkey in the second quarter of 2015 with first deliveries slated for December 2016, Russia’s energy giant Gazprom said Tuesday.
“We agreed to organize our work so that an intergovernmental agreement on the pipeline is signed in the second quarter of the current year, with first gas arriving to Turkey in December 2016,” Gazprom said in a statement.
The first leg of the new pipeline will deliver 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas exclusively for the Turkish market, Gazprom said.
Gazprom also said that it would complete the marine part of the pipeline individually, while the gas transportation capacity in Turkey will be developed together with the Turkish company.
